About the artworks
Fractured Equilibrium
by Beyond
This new mural is another chapter in my ongoing exploration of my own visual abstract language.
For this particular work, the intersection between my evolving style and the ice sculpture festival created an opportunity to explore new territory. Melting my own forms together with the unpredictable, sculptural forms that ice can transform to. I aim to evoke a sense of movement and transformation, just like ice, which shifts and changes under temperature and time.

A Frozen Vision
by Smok
The subject of my work is the – ijsvogel – a kingfisher in English, but also a play on words in Dutch that translates literally to “ice bird.” I embraced this duality in my design, allowing the vibrant bird to seamlessly transform into a sculpture of ice. This piece represents the delicate balance between life and frozen stillness, a moment where nature’s beauty and art’s permanence intertwine.
Seperti Tulis Di Atas Air
by Dominique Latoel, Paul Watty en Nicky Nahafahik
An abstract interpretation of “An Undiscovered World”. In a captivating blend of hyperrealism and abstraction, symbolism and forms explore the highest peaks and the deepest valleys. This artwork invites you to transcend boundaries and discover new perspectives, where reality and imagination converge.

Operation High Jump
by Gart Smits & Jasper Briks
The theme of this work is Operation High Jump, the discovery of another civilization within the hollow Earth. Created entirely with spray paint, this piece combines an ancient alien setting with the era of worldly discoveries, a period known as the Enlightenment, also referred to as the Renaissance. Within this context, and through a portal in Antarctica, artists Jasper Briks and Gart Smits invite you on a journey of discovery within your own imagination.
F.E.A.R. - From Endings Arrives Renewal
by Ard Doko
“The Underworld of Hades” is the story I chose within the theme: “An Undiscovered World.”
I must admit that I struggle with accepting death. While there have been moments in my life when I consciously chose to embrace it, my fear of death ultimately feels more like an ode to life.

Ice Queen
by Marcus “GOMAD” Debie & James Jetlag
This mural showcases the beauty of winter through a blend of realism and fantasy. In the center, a woman with closed eyes exudes tranquility. Her pale skin resembles ice, connecting her to nature. Around her, birds in white and blue fly, symbolizing freedom. Flowing ice forms move through the image, creating a magical effect. This artwork illustrates how nature and emotions come together in a powerful yet fragile balance. It is an enchanting depiction of the royal essence of winter, embodied by both human and avian elements.
The Initiation of Inanna
by Marloes de Kiewit
My design is inspired by the book ‘The Initiation of Inanna’, a modern interpretation of the ancient Sumerian goddess. Her descent into the underworld, passing through seven “layers”, symbolizes shedding personal masks, old beliefs, and limitations. Ultimately, she confronts her true, vulnerable self, experiencing death and rebirth – an inner journey of self-reflection, deeper awareness, and healing.

Cerberus
by Nina Valkhoff
My design is inspired by Cerberus, a three-headed dog from Greek mythology. He guards the gates of the underworld, allowing the dead to enter, but no one escapes. My version of Cerberus is inspired by African wild dogs, a species that is threatened with extinction. By combining these animals, I aim to raise awareness for the conservation of endangered species and the important role they play in nature.
Inner Compass
by Loes van Reijmersdal
This painting is part of a series of drawings about my recovery journey from CPTSD. People often joke about “how do you feel?” It’s not that easy to answer that question when I was constantly losing connection with my body, heart, feelings, and soul. Living entirely through reason, expectations, and self-sacrifice to keep everyone around me happy. This way, I didn’t have to feel anything myself. I was afraid, so I kept suppressing my emotions, needs, and feelings. Through psychomotor therapy, I learned to read the compass of my heart again. To catch the waves of life while learning to trust my inner compass once more.

Between Worlds
by Laxmi Manuela
My work is inspired by the search for what often remains unseen, both in the world around us and within ourselves. It symbolizes the power and mystery of undiscovered worlds, waiting to be understood. By bringing together various cultural elements in a single image, I aim to explore the richness of diverse traditions and identities. For instance, the background features a typical Indian pattern, while the portrait itself reflects influences from Africa. The piece invites viewers to look beyond the surface and reflect on the deeper stories that often lie outside our field of vision.
Stream of Consciousness
by Naomi King
Open your mind..
We’re all on the river of consciousness although we pass along different places at the same time and see the same place after it has changed. Some of us are the rushing rapids, others a calm pool. Regardless, we all eventually travel the same route in traveling through life phases, but not exactly the same way at the same time.

Criztal Caz
by CAZN1
Graffiti and surrealism come together in my work, blending the best of both worlds. My style carries an old soul, as if it belongs to the atmosphere of the Ice Age. Back then, the world was calmer and closer to nature. Life today is hotter and faster, but sometimes I wonder: was the Ice Age better? Through my art, I aim to reflect the balance between then and now. I incorporate natural elements and combine them with modern techniques, seeking a connection between motion and stillness, strength and vulnerability.
New Frontiers
by Tymon de Laat
My work is known for portraits of people I meet and photograph around the world. In these portraits, I tell stories about people and their lives. For this exhibition, I changed my approach by using an AI prompt to create a fictional Mongolian explorer. Through this, I explore this new technology and shape its interpretation of the unknown.

Navigating with Stars
by Roy “Karski” Valk
I am fascinated by how people in the desert live without technology and find their way using the stars. For them, stars and planets are not just beautiful to look at but also essential guides and timekeepers. They have an intimate knowledge of the night sky and, for example, use the North Star to determine direction. Constellations, such as Orion, also help them recognize seasons and locate food sources. This way of life shows me how powerful and valuable knowledge of nature can be. It inspires me to reflect on how we interact with our environment.
Zeus
by Ricardo van Zwol
This work is inspired by Greek mythology. The supreme god Zeus takes a prominent place in this piece. He was the principal resident of Mount Olympus and the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. His jealous wife, Hera, tried in many ways to prevent Zeus from engaging in his amorous escapades, but often in vain: he had at least nine relationships with goddesses, nymphs, and mortal women. Two of them are depicted in this work.

Imaginary Worlds
by Iota
This painting is inspired by imaginary worlds, exploring the delicate balance between light and ice. The geometric shapes and interplay of colors invite the viewer into a reality where the crystalline material, both solid and translucent, becomes a metaphor for dreams and worlds suspended in time. This work reflects on the ever-changing nature of these imaginary kingdoms, caught between fragility and strength.
Neptune: The Face of the icy planet
by Simbl
Imagine the vast, mysterious Neptune captured in the shape of a face, where the swirling clouds of deep icy blue and stormy winds form its features. This painted visage represents the powerful god of the sea, gazing across the cosmos with an otherworldly calm. His blue eyes, like the planet’s swirling storms, reflect both beauty and danger. This face is not just a portrait—it’s a gateway to the unknown, a reminder of the distant, enigmatic bluish water and icy world that stands at the edge of our solar system.
