The Ice Sculpture Festival

The Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival is coming back!

From Saturday, 12 December to Sunday, 7 March, Biddinghuizen will once again transform into a magical winter wonderland. We hope to welcome you again this winter.

Ticket sales will start in mid-September via our website. Behind the scenes, we are working on a spectacular and surprising new theme. We’re keeping it a secret for now, but you can expect some hints in the coming weeks. Keep a close eye on our social media, newsletter and website!

Looking for a fun winter job or internship? For the upcoming season, we are looking for both interns and hospitality and catering staff.

Opening Hours

13 DECEMBER-  8 MARCH

 

The Ice Sculpture Festival can be experienced from Saturday 13 December 2025 through Sunday 8 March 2026.

We are open form Tuesday to Sunday. During school holidays we’re open every day, including Christmas Day and Boxing day.

Opening hours:

Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 – 17:00

Saturday & Sunday: 09:30 – 17.30

New this Year: Evening openings!

During the Christmas Holidays you can experience the festival on selected evenings, until 21:00.

Evening openings on: 19. 20, 26, 27, 28, 28,29 ,30 Dccember & 2 January.

On all other days during the Christmas Holidays, we are open from 09:00 – 18:00

We remain open untill everyone has finished their visit. If you choose the last time slot, you will stull have plenty of time to enjoy everything.

Please note:

New Year’s Eve (31 December): open until 15:00

New years Day (1 January): Closed

Geen zorgen over parkeren – er is genoeg plek. De parkeerkosten zijn €6,- voor een hele dag.

Liever met OV?
Reis naar Station Harderwijk en pak daar de shuttlebus naar het festival (op vaste dagen beschikbaar, meer info volgt). Zo hoef je je geen zorgen te maken over parkeren of files en kom je comfortabel en zonder gedoe aan. Makkelijk, toch?

At the Ice Sculpture Festival, it’s all about art at its coolest. Around 45 international artists, also known as carvers, come together to showcase their talent and transform blocks of ice into breathtaking works of art.

Visited today and everything was incredibly impressive and beautifully made. I had high expectations, but this was beyond anything I imagined!! Now I have lots of photos to go through! A huge compliment to the staff as well. Every single person was friendly, helpful and cheerful, and you could really tell they were committed to making sure visitors had a great time. They definitely succeeded!!!

Last Saturday, my husband and I visited the wonderful Ice Sculpture Festival for the first time.

The making-of movie was also a wonderful addition. It gave us a glimpse behind the scenes and showed us how much dedication and passion goes into creating this festival.

We really enjoyed the beautiful works of art. How easy it is to make a snowman when you see all these creations. In one word beautiful. Dress well though, it is quite cold in there.

How beautiful it was to walk through the hall, every time an oeee and aahhh how beautiful. Amazing what these artists have put up. We really enjoyed it. It was very cold but fortunately we were prepared for that with gloves and a thick hat and scarf. To be repeated and highly recommended for anyone who had to miss this time.

Nice variety of large and small images with lots of details. The special photo locations are also top notch. Something for everyone. With the lighting effects, the ice bar and t seeing/talking to the carver, who was there himself at our time, we were informed and entertainted, a nice outing overall.

Yes, the Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival is fully accessible for visitors with disabilities. Carers accompanying wheelchair users do not need to pay an entrance fee. We also have accessible toilets and parking spaces for visitors with disabilities.

We have a number of wheelchairs available to borrow at the festival. Just ask one of our staff members – there is no need to reserve one in advance.

We do everything we can to make sure everyone can enjoy the magic of the festival! Need any extra assistance? Just let us know!

During the final weekend, we are always open to visitors who are visually impaired, and they are allowed to touch the sculptures. Of course, all other visitors are welcome too!

A walk through the ice hall takes about 45 to 60 minutes, but take your time — with your ticket, you’re welcome to go back in for a second round!
