The Ice Sculpture Festival
Imagine a world where the cold warms your heart.
A world where you stroll among gigantic sculptures made of ice and snow, each carved with incredible detail by the finest artists on the planet. A place where fantasy, creativity, and wonder come together in a magical winter experience.
That place is real. From December 13, 2025 to March 8, 2026, the Dutch Ice Sculpture Festival will once again open its doors in Biddinghuizen. Forty-five international top artists will transform over 300,000 kilos of ice and 275,000 kilos of snow into a breathtaking world you can experience for just one winter.
This year’s theme is Let’s Go to the Movies: Ice Sculptures from the Silver Screen. The festival is entirely dedicated to iconic films. Sail aboard the Titanic, disappear into Alice’s Wonderland, escape traps and dangers with Indiana Jones, swim with the sharks from Jaws, or dance through the streets of Pulp Fiction. Are you ready to step onto this icy movie set?
Perfect as a Christmas holiday outing, a family adventure, or a winter day filled with art and culture. Tickets are now available in our ticket shop. Don’t miss it—once the ice melts, it’s gone forever.

The Ice Sculpture Festival can be experienced from Saturday 13 December 2025 through Sunday 8 March 2026.
We are open form Tuesday to Sunday. During school holidays we’re open every day, including Christmas Day and Boxing day.
Opening hours:
Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 – 17:00
Saturday & Sunday: 09:30 – 17.30
New this Year: Evening openings!
During the Christmas Holidays you can experience the festival on selected evenings, until 21:00.
Evening openings on: 19. 20, 26, 27, 28, 28,29 ,30 Dccember & 2 January.
On all other days during the Christmas Holidays, we are open from 09:00 – 18:00
We remain open untill everyone has finished their visit. If you choose the last time slot, you will stull have plenty of time to enjoy everything.

New Year’s Eve (31 December): open until 15:00
New years Day (1 January): Closed

Coming by car?
No worries about parking — there’s plenty of space. Parking costs €5 for the whole day.
Prefer public transport?
Travel to Harderwijk station or Dronten station and take bus 147 to the Bremerbergweg stop.
During the Christmas holidays and spring break, the one and only Ice Sculptures shuttle bus will take you from the Bremerbergweg stop to the festival grounds and back again. The shuttle runs between 10:00 and 17:00. Please note: the shuttle does not operate on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

We really enjoyed the beautiful works of art. How easy it is to make a snowman when you see all these creations. In one word beautiful. Dress well though, it is quite cold in there.
I was absolutely blown away by the beautiful ice figures! The colorful lights gave a magical atmosphere to the whole event. It was great to see and experience the different themes, from traditional to modern. Highly recommended for a unique and enchanting outing!
How beautiful it was to walk through the hall, every time an oeee and aahhh how beautiful. Amazing what these artists have put up. We really enjoyed it. It was very cold but fortunately we were prepared for that with gloves and a thick hat and scarf. To be repeated and highly recommended for anyone who had to miss this time.
Nice variety of large and small images with lots of details. The special photo locations are also top notch. Something for everyone. With the lighting effects, the ice bar and t seeing/talking to the carver, who was there himself at our time, we were informed and entertainted, a nice outing overall.

A walk through the ice hall takes about 45 to 60 minutes, but take your time — with your ticket, you’re welcome to go back in for a second round!
